Lettera aperta ad Alan Ball

Dopo i risvolti di oggi, ho deciso di scrivere una lettera al nostro caro creatore di True Blood, sapendo che non la leggerà mai, ma comunque è per esprimervi il mio disappunto, riguardo alcuni fatti avvenuti di recente.

LA LETTERA è ASSOLUTAMENTE SCHERZOSA, E PER FARSI DUE RISATE, inoltre non ho niente da fare, e mi sto annoiando.

Galeotto fu il Comic-Con, e cosa dicesti tu!

Mi hai fatto quasi venire voglia di non vedere True Blood, mai più!

Mi sento tradito, deluso e abbandonato

è come se al Team Eric tu avessi sparato.

Dopo questa breve poesia, passiamo alla lettera.

Caro Alan,

Ti ammiro, ti apprezzo, fin dai tempi di Six Feet Under e di American Beauty, trovo che il tuo lavoro sia geniale, e innovativo. Quando ho visto un mega bus gigante ad Hollywood con la pubblicità di True Blood sopra, e quando ho letto Alan Ball, il tuo nome, mi sono detto: appena torno in Italia, devo vedere questa serie.

Sono diventato un fan, un fan di quelli veri, un Trubie. Ho aperto un blog, un blog che ospita più di 4000 utenti al giorno, e che ormai è diventata una community.

Non è un segreto, sono Team Eric! Sono Team Eric è non sono attratto da Alexander, visto che sono eterosessuale, ciò che mi piace di Eric è il personaggio, il carattere, come può evolversi, mi ricorda un mix di Spike e Sawyer.

Ma la cosa che mi piace di più di Eric, è il suo rapporto con Sookie: i loro continui battibecchi, i flirtamenti vari, e lo scambio di sguardi tra i due. Lui già tiene a lei, lei ancora no, ma c’è tempo, e si vede che il legame può diventare forte. Ho una brutta notizia per te Alan: NON SONO L’UNICO TEAM ERIC, anzi, ho sentito dire che siamo TANTI TANTI.

Come aspirante scrittore, e sceneggiatore, so che il bello di scrivere è appunto raccontare ciò che ci piace di più, e i personaggi che troviamo più interessanti, e non posso darti contro per questo. So che hai una preferenza per Bill, non concepisco come mai ad un genio come te possa piacere un personaggio come Bill, ma si sa, de gustibus!

Detto questo, ti scrivo per le tue recenti dichiarazioni al Comic-Con: hai detto che Bill e Sookie sono “Soulmates”. La mia paura è che tu non voglia esplorare la storia tra Sookie ed Eric, o peggio, che tu voglia semplicemente dedicare a loro massimo 2 episodi, e poi far tornare Sookie tra le braccia del tanto amato Bill.

Ora voglio dirti: i fan della saga di Charlaine sono tanti, e seguono lo show. Cosa avrebbero detto i fan e J.K Rowling se la warner bros avesse fatto di Draco Malfoy il personaggio principale? Oppure avesse reso Harry uno spacciatore di droga al liceo?

Non tutti i fan sono contenti di ciò che è stato detto al Comic-Con, i fan sono persone, le persone sono ascolti, gli ascolti è ciò che fanno andare avanti True Blood. Se fossi un regista, e avessi dovuto adattare la Twilight Saga per il grande schermo, e fossi di parte, e deciderei di far mettere Bella con Jacob, cosa succederebbe?

I fan vanno rispettati, tutte le storyline vanno esplorate.

Ripeto: apprezzo e ammiro il tuo lavoro.

Dear Alan,

I admire you, I appreciate you since Six Feet Under and American Beauty, I think your work is amazing, and fresh. When i saw a big bus in Hollywood blvd with the True Blood advertising on it, and when i saw the name Alan Ball, i told myself: when I get back to Italy, i must watch this show.

I became a huge fan, a real fan, a Trubie. I own a blog, a blog that has more than 4000 users per day, and that became a community.

It’s not a secret, I’m Team Eric, I’m Team Eric not because i’m attracted to Alexander, as I’m straight, what I like about Eric is the character itself, how he can evolve, he reminds me a Spike/Sawyer mix.

But the thing I like the most about Eric is his relationship with Sookie: their arguments, the flirting, and when they look into eachother’s eyes. He cares about her, she doesn’t yet, but there’s time, and it’s clear that their bound can become stronger. I have a bad news for you Alan: I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE TEAM ERIC, indeed,  I heard, we are like A LOT.

As an aspiring writer, and screenwriter, I know that the most beautiful thing about writing is to be allowed to tell what we like the most, to write about the characters we love the most, and I can’t tell you anything about that. I know you’re  Team Bill, I don’t understand why a genius like you likes Bil, but, you know, whatever, de gustibus!

I write to you for your recent  affirmations at the San Diego Comic Con: you said Bill and Sookie are soulmates. My fear is that you don’t want to explore Sookie and Eric’s relationship, or even worse, I fear you might dedicate two episodes to the relationship between them, and then Sookie’s gonna come back to Bill.
